The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
I really like Douglas Adams' trilogy of "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy".
It is a true multimedia SF event, having been done as Radio Drama, TV, Books,
Records, Pop Songs, a Stage Play, Interactive Computer Game, and discussion of
a movie.
At the moment it includes five(!) books named
"The Hitch Hikers's Guide to the Galaxy" (1979),
"The Restaurant at the End of the Universe" (1980),
"Life, the Universe, and Everything" (1982),
"So long, and thanks for all the fish" (1984) and
"Mostly Harmless" (1992).
Just Click on the name of the book to read it's first lines.
These pictures are taken from the book "The last Chance to See":

he's not in Zaire anymore.

Additionally there is "The Hitchhiker's Trilogy" (1984) which includes the
first three books, "The More Than Complete Hitchhiker's Guide" (1986) and
"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: A Trilogy in Four Parts" or "The
Hitchhiker's Quartet" including the first four books. You can also buy "The
Original Hitchhiker Radio Scripts" (1985).
